Sometimes when you click back button in Explorer or attempt to open a new program Vista will hang up. If I press ctrl, alt, del the new task screen comes up, click on start task manager and the program opens or explorer returns to the first open page. I'm running Office 2007 beta also. Plus, Vista takes way too long to load. XP starts much faster. I figure this will be solved in the public version.

Vista Beta hangs
Yes, it will get better when more drivers come out. Ive had slow slow slow start ups b/c of drivers. It was a combo of my video driver and sound driver. I finally got my video driver to work but still cant get the sound driver to work properly. Just un install all your devices that require drivers that are not supported by vista. then restart and one by one install a device and when u have a slow start up you'll know which driver is conflicting. Maybe even some of these so called "Vista Beta" drivers from hardware companys. I got the vista beta driver from realtek and it is just like an xp driver. Hangs, hangs, hangs, hangs and is slow.

Control Panel.... "performance ratings and tools" if theres a driver thats slowing your bootup time alot (or shutdown time etc) it will be mentioned under "Performance issues" and you can tell straight off what your dealing with. Also check out "Problem Reports and Solutions", tick em all, and check for solutions. Tis quick and easy, and if it dont work, try above :)
